Edinburgh Marathon 2023

Live Stream, TV Coverage, Date, Course Route, Start Time

Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Marathon is an incredible place to kick off your marathon journey and continues to grow in popularity. In terms of participant numbers it is already the largest marathon in Scotland and the second largest in the whole of the UK. You will love it, whether you are running or just there to watch.

The Edinburgh marathon course is relatively flat, which allows for fast times and is always well supported by large crowds lining the route to cheer on the participants, making this a very popular marathon with both professional and amateur athletes. The weather at this time of year in Edinburgh is typically cool, which also lends itself to fast times.

In common with many modern marathons the event has expanded over the years and is now part of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival which lasts a full weekend and also includes a half marathon, team relay, 5k and 10k races as well as junior races, making this an inclusive event that caters to pretty much any level of athletic ability.

Date

The Edinburgh marathon this year takes place on Sunday 28th May 2023

Start time

The marathon gets underway at 10.00am

There has been a live online stream of the marathon available in recent years, we will post the link for this year's event as soon as we have it.

There is also likely to be decent coverage on the local TV channels, including the BBC news channel.

There is live radio coverage from Forth 1, who also have a live feed to listen online:
