Miami Marathon 2018

Live Stream, TV Coverage, Course, Start Time, Date

Miami, Florida, 28 January, 6.00am

Miami marathon

The Miami marathon is one of the first major marathons in the United States each year, capitalising on the clement weather conditions in Florida at this time of year, which are generally warm and pleasant enough to encourage crowds of spectators while not being too hot and uncomfortable for the athletes. Just to stay on the safe side, the race is subject to a very early morning start.

The race is a relatively recent addition to the marathon calendar, having been run for the first time only in 2003, but it continues to grow in popularity with the addition of a half marathon, and also a 5k run which takes place on the day before the main marathon events.

Course Map

The marathon and half marathon both get underway at 6am from the American Airlines Arena on Biscayne Boulevard. The finish line is at Bayfront Park, where there is also a post race party for athletes and their supporters.

The course itself is relatively flat and is run on a single loop, you can see a map of the full course route here:

Hotels and Accommodation

Miami in January is very popular both with US visitors and international travellers looking for some winter sun, so you can expect local hotel prices to be on the high side. It is worth booking well in advance if you can to secure the best deals.
